Indian star batsman Virat Kohli became the fastest player to score 5000 runs in One day international cricket in the match against the West Indies at Kochi today. Virat becomes the joint record holder for the fastest to achieve 5000 runs in ODIs. Both the batsman took 114 innings to achieve the feat.
Kohli reached 5000 runs in 120 matches whereas Viv Richards took 126 matches.
He overtook Saurav Ganguly's record as the fastest Indian batsman to reach 5000 runs too.
