Marottichal Village in Thrissur is the house of two unexplored waterfalls namely Ilanjippara Waterfalls and Olakkayam Waterfalls.
Marottichal can be accessed by road 20 kms from Thrissur via Marathakkara – Kuttanellur – Puthur – Mannamangalam – Marottichal route. Private buses to Marottichal are available from the Sakthan bus stand, Thrissur
The waterfalls are located inside the forest and can be reached by trekking. From the Marottichal bus stop visitors can take the forest route to the Olakkayam waterfall. From there an one hour/3 kms trekking will reach you at Ilanjippara Waterfalls which offers a scenic view of forest beauty. Visitors can have a swim and a bath in the cold water here.
