Melpathur Auditorium is one for the famouse auditoriums in the district situated near the Guruvayur temple premises. The auditorium is named after the great saint poet Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiri, who worshipped Lord Guruvayoorappan by composing devotional classic Narayaneeyam.
Melpathur auditorium is controlled by Guruvayur devaswom. The auditorium will be given for cultural programmes such as dance and music from 6 am in the morning till 12 pm at midnight.
A group will get one and a half hours time to use the auditorium. Thus 10 groups can avail the facilities in the auditorium a day.
A 15 minutes interval is given between every programme. The devaswom collects a fee of Rs. 2000 per hour for the auditorium. Booking is available 60 days in advance.
The auditorium is noted for performing arangettam in various dance forms.
