Thrissur, 10 July 2014: The State Government has allotted an amount of Rs. 30 lakhs for the initial works of the Puzhakkal Mobility Hub in the district. The District Collector MS Jaya has been appointed as the Managing Director of the mobility hub society.
The works of the mobility hub is handled by Kerala Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organization (KITCO) and is aimed to be in the lines of the Vytilla mobility hub at Ernakulam.
The proposed mobility hub is aimed to reduce the traffic congestion in the city. Long route KSRTC, private buses plying from Thrissur to Kozhikode and Kannur will be able to use this facility. According to the project buses from Guruvayur, Kozhikode, Anthikad etc will enter to mobility hub through Ayyanthole. City buses will connect the mobility hub to the other parts of the town.
