St. Thomas College Higher Secondary School, Thrissur, located near the Swaraj round on the Thrissur Palghat road is one of the oldest educational institution in the district.
The school was set up in 1889 by Father Mar Adolf Edwin Medlicott of the Trichur Arch Diocese. The first headmaster and manager of the school was CV Sankunni Menon and Farther Paul Kuttikatt. Father Joseph Pullokkaran who was the headmaster of the school during 1919 to 1946 did many developmental activities for the school During 1927 October 14, Mahatma Gandhi visited the school.
The school located at the heart of the town near the District hospital has classes from Standard 5th till Plus two. The Plus two batches include two batches of Science/Biology, one batch each for Computer Science, Commerce/Maths and Commerce/Computer Application.
Notable alumni of the school include Sri TN Jayachandran IAS, Msgr Raphael Thattil, actor TG Ravi, music Director Johnson, businessman Jose Alukka, singers Franco, music director Alphons, olympian Lijo Thottan etc
The school now functions under the Corporate Education Agency of the Thrissur Arch Diocese. The school comes under the educational district of Thrissur and sub district of Thrissur East.
