Thrissur, 9 January, 2016: The 8th edition of the International Theatre Festival of Kerala ITFOK 2016 will be held from 10 to 16 January at Thrissur.
The festival will be conducted by Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy at the G. Sankara Pillai Cultural complex. 39 performances of Twenty plays from 12 countries will be enacted during the festival.
A film festival on plays will also be a part of the theatre festival. 'Body Political' is the theme of ITFoK 2016. ‘Mariamma’, ‘Khasakkinte Ithihasam’ will be the opening plays of ITFoK 2016.
Some of plays to be performed in this years ITFoK include Sharira, Baling, Silk thread, Adhehavum Mruthadhevaum, Colours of our Blood, Garbage Monster, The Battle Scene, Matthi, Heavens, Thodya Dhyan se etc.
Fifty per cent of the seats in a theatre will be made available for online reservations and 40 per cent at the venue. Spectators can reserve their seats via the official website. http://www.theatrefestivalkerala.com/
ITFoK organised by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi is the biggest theatre festival of the state. ITFoK which began in 2008 under the chairmanship of actor Murali includes contemporary plays from all over the world, open air performances, shows from Kerala's traditional theatre etc.
