Thrissur, 11 January 2016: Murali Narayanan from Thalikulam has created the world record for the longest flute marathon when he played flute for 28 hours non-stop yesterday. Murali broke the current world record for longest flute marathon set by Katherine Brookes of United Kingdom in February, 2012 for 25 hours and 48 minutes. Murali aged 40, who hails from Thalikkulam played flute for 27 hours 20 minutes and 50 seconds
The record breaking event which was held at a Government High School ground, Thalikkulam, was attended by T N Prathapan, MLA, Soorya Krishnamoorthy, Chairman of Sangeetha Nataka Academy, Guinness representative Sunil Joseph etc.
