The month-long cultural programme for children, 'Venalmazha 2016,' (Kuttikalude Sargathmaka Sahavasam) to be held at a venue dedicated to the memory of ONV Kurup, the great poet, started off on April 3 with a Yoga Training Camp that will continue till April 29. From April 9 - 11 will be held Watermelon Theatre Workshop for Children, led by Emil Madhavi as camp director and Dr. Roshni Swapna as camp coordinator. The theatre workshop will be inaugurated by Sreejith Remanan, Assistant Professor, School of Drama and Fine Art, Thrissur. Renu Ramanath and Pradeep Narayanan will also speak at the inaugural function.
From April 16 - 29, will be held a Music Appreciation Workshop. An Art Camp, to be held from April 23 to 29, at Rajan Krishnan Vedi, will begin with a painting competition to be held on the first day. The works in the camp will be exhibited on April 30 and May 1, 2016.
On April 30, the anniversary of Gramika Academy will be held at Margi Sathi Vedi with a vocal concert by Adoor Sudarshan at 10 in the morning. A musical event will be held from 1 p.m. The inaugural meeting will be held at 5 p.m., followed by the dance performances.
The anniversary of Gramika Kalavedi will be held on May 1, at Kalabhavan Mani Vedi, beginning with the staging of two plays, 'Manja,' and 'Ella Poomukhathum Patti Kayarum,' presented by Njamanekkad Theatre Village. The valedictory session will be held at 5.30 p.m., followed by a performance of 'Arjuna Nritham,' presented by Arjuna Nritha Kalalayam, Kottayam. At 9 p.m., folk songs by Karinthalakkoottam will be held.
