The Thrissur Circuit Tourism project is placed under six categories — blue (water tourism); brown (dam tourism); yellow (cultural tourism); orange (Muziris heritage tourism); green (backwater tourism); and red (assorted tourism). The circuit trips will be start from Thrissur at 7 a.m. and return at 7 p.m.
The project is planned by Assistant Collector M.V.R. Krishna Theja
Six circuits named after different colours are as follows:
Blue circuit
Vazhachal, Charpa, Athirappilly and Thumburmozhi waterfalls and Munakkal dolphin beach;
Brown circuit
Chimmini, Peechi, Vazhani and Poomala dams and Vilangan Kunnu;
Yellow circuit
Kerala Kalamandalam, Puppet Art Gallery, Sakthan Thampuran Museum, Zoo and Ayurveda Museum;
Orange circuit
Paravoor Synagogue, Kottappuram Fort, Paliyam Kovilakam, Paliyam Nalukettu and Pattanam excavation site;
Green circuit
Chimmini, a three-hour trip from Chettuva to Enamavu (Kodamukku river bank, Pulikkakadavu, Chettuva island and Chettuva harbour) and Snehatheeram beach
Red circuit
Vilangan Kunnu, Vazhani dam, zoo-museum, and Snehatheeram beach.
