The initial work for the first and only one six lane highway in Kerala has been initiated in Thrissur. The 6 lane highway connecting Mannuthy to Vadakanchery will be a part of the current four lane project from Edappally to Walayar.
The 30 kms stretch will be of 60 metre width and will also comprise of a tunnel under the Kuthiran hill. As per the initial blue print there will be two different tunnels connecting Vazhukkupara to Irumbu Paalam.
