The Thrissur Pooram exhibition city set foot on the Vadakkannatha temple grounds to mark the arrival of the Puram of Poorams. With the intervention of the Chief Minister in the crisis of holding only Pooram ceremony in the ground rent controversy, the exhibition started in the city with joy. Paramekav Temple Melkav Melshanthi Karekkad Raman Namboothiripad Bhumi Puja was performed after the participants lighted the Bhadradeepam and gave permission for the Calnat. This year it is early and the exhibition will also start early. Full exhibition from March 24 to May 22. The exhibition usually starts on April 1st. This year's Puram is on April 19. About 150 stalls and about 70 pavilions, including those of the central and state governments, will be on display. The dispute arose between the Thiruvampadi-Paramekkav Devaswam and the Cochin Devaswam Board after demanding a ground rent of Rs 2.20 crore. The position of the Devaswams was that the Board's demand cannot be accepted as the Pooram is being held with the income of the exhibition city. As both the factions stood their ground, the Devaswam passed the resolution to hold the Pooram ceremony. With this, the Chief Minister intervened in the matter and an agreement was reached for the previous year's ground rent of 42 lakhs
