Thrissur, 1 February 2014: The construction of ambitious science city project by Government of Kerala will be inaugurated by Defence Minister AK Antony at Kuravilangad on February 1, 2014.
The Science City at Kuravilangad, Kottayam will come up in 30 acres with a budget of Rs. 100 crores. The project would be jointly implemented by the Ministry of Culture and the State Education Department.
The project will feature an evolution theme park, planetarium, 3D theatre, campus with Wi-Fi and WiMAX facilities, science and energy park, science library, Ham Radio station, walkway museum, rope car service, butterfly garden, high-tech classrooms, auditoriums, classrooms, seminar halls and a food court.
The Kuravilangad Science City will be the first science city in south India, Kolkata Science City being the largest in India.
