Thriprayar Sreerama Temple under Cochin Devaswom Board is situated at Triprayar near the bank of river Theevra (Purayar).
The temple is located 22 kilometres from Thrissur town between Kodungallur and Guruvayur in the National Highway 17.
The temple got its name from Thiru-Purayar since it is situated near the holy river Purayar. It forms one of the four temples involved in the Nalambala Darshanam.
